Copper-steel composite plate use carbon steel or stainless steel as the base metal material, and are coated with precious metal materials such as copper/brass/titanium on one or both sides. Through special technical processing, two or more materials are fused into a whole to obtain a new type of material with better performance and appearance.
The material has high strength, good electrical and thermal conductivity, and stainless steel composite has non-magnetic properties, excellent corrosion resistance and ductility. Composite metals have excellent properties that no single metal can match, and these metal properties can complement each other. The biggest advantage of this composite plate is that the material and thickness can be selected according to the needs of different customers.

Copper has good toughness, can remain stable under high pressure conditions, and has natural lubrication function. However, due to the scarcity of copper resources and the high price of copper , the amount of copper used in the military industry is very large, and China has to look for alternative materials. Steel is cheap, and China is a major steel producer in the world. However, directly using steel to make bullets will face some problems, such as the lack of sufficient lubricity of steel, which may cause the gun chamber to be blocked and is not suitable for combat. Therefore, Chinese scientists study how to use existing resources to effectively manufacture bullets without sacrificing performance. The design idea of "copper-clad steel" bullets was born from this. After repeated research and experiments, the "copper-clad steel" technology covers a layer of copper film of appropriate thickness on the surface of the steel, and then presses and stretches the copper and steel , so that the final bullets have both the excellent properties of copper and the high strength and cost-effectiveness of steel. This method not only effectively reduces the use of copper, but also improves the overall performance of bullets. By using "copper-clad steel", not only can costs be effectively controlled, but also huge bullet demands can be met in military training and strategic reserves in peacetime.
